How tax works on this platform
Sales tax on tickets sold through Reserv’d. Where the law makes Reserv’d the marketplace provider for a ticket sold through the platform,
Reserv’d certifies that it assumes the rights and duties of a seller or retailer for that sale, and will collect, report and remit the applicable sales or admissions tax on it. This certification is given under Texas Tax Code § 151.0242 and the equivalent provisions of any other state where it applies. Tax is added to the guest’s total, shown before they pay, and is never part of your payout and never our revenue.
What stays yours. You keep your own sales tax permit and keep filing your own returns — for your bar, food, door cash, and anything you sell outside this platform. You exclude tickets we sold from your return, because we already remitted on them. Selling through a marketplace does not end a registration or filing obligation you already have.
Tax follows the room, not the buyer. An admission is taxed where the event physically happens — a guest in Dallas holding an Orlando ticket owes Orlando’s rate. You must give us the real street address of every room you run, and tell us when a night happens somewhere else.
If the information you give us is wrong. You must furnish what we need to collect and remit correctly, and keep it current.
If tax is collected incorrectly because the information you gave us was wrong or incomplete, that is your responsibility, not ours.None of this is tax advice. Check with your own accountant for the rooms you run.
